Kentucky has landed one of the highest upside players in the portal.

Arizona State transfer Jayden Quaintance has committed to Kentucky, he announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 9.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in his freshman season. At just 17 years old, Quaintance is a projected top-5 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Cleveland native is an elite defender, averaging 2.6 blocks and 1.1 steals per game with a 7-foot-5 wingspan.

This is Quaintance’s second time committing to Kentucky after originally committing to the program out of high school but later decommitting once John Calipari stepped away from the program. Now the former five-star prospect will play for the Wildcats under Mark Pope, who made the Sweet 16 in his first season as head coach in Kentucky.
