Washington will be getting another chance with a young and talented guard.

USC transfer Westley Yates will return to Washington, he announced on his Instagram on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his freshman season. Before arriving at USC, Yates attended the University of Washington but did not play due to a foot injury.

Washington has been active in the transfer portal this offseason, with this being its fifth transfer acquisition. Top European prospect Hannes Steinbach, East Tennessee State transfer Quimari Peterson, Rutgers transfer Lathan Sommerville and Lipscomb transfer Jacob Ognacevic have all committed to Washington.
