Jordan McLaughlin has committed to play his college basketball at the University of Southern California.
The 18th ranked player in the country by ESPN, McLaughlin recently took a visit last week to USC and not long after, he announced that he would be making his college decision on Wednesday afternoon.
Last week, McLaughlin’s AAU coach, Cameron Murray spoke to SNY.tv about Jordan’s view on Southern California.
“He likes the recruiters a lot at Southern California,” Murray told SNY.tv of coach Andy Enfield’s program. “As of right now, its hard to tell how he’d fit in, because its such a new system. The young recruiters are making a big impact though with the recruits because of the relationships they have with them.”
New York recruiting expert Tom Konchalski loves McLaughlin’s game, and thinks he could be a top point guard at the collegiate level.
“At the NBA Players Camp, he had a game where I thought he was the most legitimate point guard there, where he looked to make people better,” Konchalski told SNY.tv. “He’s a guy who can run the show. He’s a legitimate point guard who thinks pass first, and is more concerned with running the offense than with scoring points himself.”
McLaughlin joins Malik Price Martin as the second commit in the class of 2014 for USC, and will play in the backcourt with UNLV transfer Katin Reinhardt, creating a formidable tandem.
