Here are a few notes from today’s Big Apple Invitational at Baruch College…

Some coaches on hand: Andre LaFleur (UConn), Craig Carter (Rutgers), Dermon Player (Seton Hall), Fred Quartlebaum (St. John’s), Julius Allen (Binghamton).

    Lists:

LANCE STEPHENSON, 6-5 Sr. G, Lincoln: St. John’s, Kansas, Memphis, UCLA

Quote: “I think if I come here [to St. John’s] I could bring New York back, that would be a good look for me and St. John’s. I love playing in the Garden, the bright lights, the fire comes out of me so I’m ready for all challenges.”

“It’s wherever is best for my family,” Stephenson added. “We’re just going to work it out after the season and see what we can do. After the season ends, I’m going to decide.”

BRANDON KNIGHT, 6-3 Jr. G, Pine Crest (Fla): UConn, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Syracuse

Note: UConn assistant Andre LaFleur is hot on his trail

    Duquesne, Fordham, West Virginia

ACHRAF YOCOUBOU, 6-4 So. G, Long Island Lutheran: UConn, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Seton Hall

Favorite: “I’d say UConn right now. I like [head coach Jim] Calhoun, I like how they run their offense . I like the school, the area.”

JOEL ‘AIR JAMAICA’ WRIGHT, 6-6 Jr. F, Thomas Jefferson: West Virginia, Fordham, Seton Hall, Villanova, Providence

Quote: “West Virginia, Fordham and Providence [are my favorites]. [ I’ll decide] by the end of this season].”
