Binghamton coach Tommy Dempsey has landed a verbal commitment from 6-6 wing Wilfredo Rodriguez of Chesire (Conn.) Academy following his official visit last weekend.
“Blessed and humble[d] to say that I committed to Binghamton University #bearcat,” he Tweeted.
Rodriguez is considered a strong inside/out scorer and great rebounder who can create matchup problems for opponents.
“He is a scoring machine,” Carlos Morales, Rodriguez’s AAU coach, told SNY.tv back in may. “He has a very long wingspan, which makes him a good rebounder. He has 950+ career rebounds.”
Rodriguez initially committed to Air Force Prep with the intention of going Division 1 in 2014. He is now at Chesire and will join Binghamton in 2014.
“I feel like I would be a scoring-type player,” Rodriguez previously told SNY.tv.
