Myles Turner enjoyed his unofficial visit to Texas Saturday, even if the Longhorns were handled by Michigan State,92-78.
“The game was fun, that was the livest I’ve seen the Texas fans,” the 6-foot-11 Turner told SNY.tv.
“You can tell Texas is really holding down their own and the city of Austin is excited to have the program going in the right direction. I could definitely see myself there. I like they way they were really trying to get Cam Ridley involved.”
As for Kentucky, Turner said head coach John Calipari, who recently watched him play in an ESPN game, has “been in touch mostly with my parents. I haven’t heard from him in a while but his pitch is the same. ‘Come on, handle your business and move on hopefully.”
Calipari has said he could add up to two more players in the spring, and is also involved with Findlay Prep shooting guard Rashad Vaughn.
Duke also remains in the mix despite adding Jahlil Okafor.
“As far as Duke, I can see myself playing alongside Jahlil because we’re two different players and that’s Coach K’s pitch,” Turner said. “‘Come in and play for a great program with great fans and a great legacy.'”
Turner currently lists Ohio State, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma State, and plans to sign late.
Having visited Ohio State officially, he also plans to take an official to Oklahoma State.
“Next visit is Oklahoma State whenever we can make time to get up to Stillwater,” he said.
