Allonzo Trier, the 2015 former Montrose Christian School (Md.) shooting guard, announced via Twitter on Monday that he will play for new head coach Andy Johnson at powerhouse Findlay Prep during his senior season.
“And for these reasons my family and I feel it is in my best interest to transfer to Findlay Prep of the Henderson International School,” he Tweeted.
Trier will pair in the backcourt at Findlay with 2016 guard Derryck Thornton, who visited Michigan this past weekend.
At the end of the regular season, Trier leads the Nike EYBL in scoring with 29.4 points per game and helped Athletes First (Okla) to a 12-4 EYBL record — fourth best overall — and a berth in the coveted Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C.
247 Sports ranks Trier the No. 12 overall player in the 2015 class and the No. 2 shooting guard. He currently holds offers from Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Oklahoma and a host of other major D-1 programs, including his most recent offer from Sean Miller and Arizona. He recently said his recruitment is wide open.
Trier will be with the USA U18 team this week in Colorado Springs, Colo., as he was just added to the tryout roster.
