Ty JeromeTy Jerome, a 6-foot-3 2016 point guard from New Rochelle (N.H.) Iona Prep, heard from 25 college coaches after they were permitted to call as of midnight Sunday.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott was the first to call “shortly after midnight,” New Heights coach Chris Alesi said, and “he plans on checking out Creighton at the end of July after our last tournament in Kansas City.”

Before then, Jerome will visit Temple Wednesday, Rutgers Thursday and Rhode Island, Hofstra and Fordham “sometime next week,” Alesi said. He has already visited George Washington.

“Ty has as high a basketball IQ as any kid I’ve ever been around,” Alesi said. “His game has an old-school feel to it. He’s a winner who lives in the gym, a 6-3 point guard with elite shooting range and terrific play-making abilities.

“He’s a winner (New Heights 16U are ranked No. 1 in the country five FiveStarBasketball.com) and I feel he’s poised to have a huge July.”
