Derrick Jones, a 6-foot-7, 190-pound junior wing from Archbishop Carroll (Pa.), will take an unofficial to UConn on Monday, as previously reported by SNY.tv.
The visit has been postponed several times.
“We’ve been trying to visit and trying to get him up there,” We R 1 coach Terrell Myers recently told SNY.tv. “The second time Kevin Ollie had something going on with his mom and the first time Derrick missed his flight so we couldn’t get him up there. But that’s definitely a place he’s going to go visit.”
UConn has yet to offer.
“Coach Ollie wants to see him in person,” Myers said.
Reigning national champion UConn has hosted a slew of big-time recruits in recent days, including 2016 guard Tyus Battle, 2015 wing Ray Smith and 2015 big man Diamond Stone.
Jones also plans to visit Louisville, Kentucky and Syracuse after July, his father told SNY.tv.
Providence is also now involved for Jones, who went off for 31 points last month in the Mary Kline Classic.
