Edward Morrow has planned official visits to Iowa and Nebraska, he told SNY.tv on Friday.
The Nebraska visit, of course, arrives as no surprise. Both of Morrow’s parents attended the school, with Tim Miles using that to drive his recruitment.
“They’re recruiting me the hardest,” Morrow said. “They pressure me the most.”That earned Miles an important visit. Last year, Nebraska earned a surprise NCAA Tournament berth and can build off of momentum.Morrow took an unofficial to Lincoln and his parents opened up about their experience at Nebraska. Meanwhile, Miles also pitched the idea of him being a three-four type who could “expand his game.” Iowa also quietly earned one of the first two official visits. Coach Fran McCaffery continues to build early relationships with prospects. He identified Morrow as an early target—and that loyalty puts them in strong position. “Fran McCaffery has recruited me pretty hard,” Morrow said. “He was there from the beginning, so I got a chance to know him. He’s been pretty tough on me as well.” Another school that could earn an official visit is SMU. Morrow praised Larry Brown and his vision for the program. The Mustangs have recruited well in recent classes, with that being an attractive trait for the school. “SMU, it has a great history behind their coach and the guys that they brought in on the staff,” Morrow said. “They have some great players in the upcoming season that I would be playing with.” During July, though, his excellent play for Mac Irvin Fire (AAU) caused his recruitment to grow complicated. He listed new offers including Arkansas, Cal, Oklahoma State and Temple. All of the schools, he said, are fighting hard to get into contention. “The new coaches, we hear from them,” he said. “They give you just as much information as everyone else. It’s just all about who I’m comfortable with.” The four-star Simeon HS (IL) power forward will narrow his list before the school year. Then, he figures to set the rest of his officials.
