After attending Wisconsin for their Red/White scrimmage this past weekend, Diamond Stone will visit UConn beginning Thursday, according to OntheRadarhoops.com.
The 6-foot-10 Stone previously visited UConn in June so the fact that he’s making a second trip must be seen as good news for coach Kevin Ollie and the Huskies.
Given UConn’s history with sending big men to the NBA — Andre Drummond, Emeka Okafor and Charlie Villanueva to name a few — it’s safe to say Ollie will remind the big man from Milwaukee (WI) Dominican of that tradition.
The No. 1 center in the Class of 2015 according to 247Sports composite rankings, Stone recently cut his list to Wisconsin, UConn, Oklahoma State and Maryland and will have visited all four schools after the UConn trip.
UConn is also believed to be in the mix for Calloway (MS) point guard Malik Newman, who has discussed a potential package deal with Stone.
The Huskies also made the final three for Roselle (N.J.) Catholic point guard Isaiah Briscoe, who is also considering St. John’s and Kentucky.
