Jarrid Famous attended Sunday’s Seton Hall-St. John’s game at Carnesecca Arena and told me he plans to take an official visit to Missouri March 4.
“I’m going to Missouri on the 4th,” the 6-foot-11 Famous out of Westchester Community College said after St. John’s 70-65 victory.
Famous took his first visit to Seton Hall in the fall and enjoyed it. He has been to several Seton Hall games since.
Famous said he will choose from among several other schools for his three remaining visits, including Xavier, Villanova, South Florida, Louisville, DePaul, UConn and possibly St. John’s.
“He just knows [the recruiting process] is starting to come to an end,” WCC assistant coach Dave Vandiver said.
WCC won the Mid-Hudson championship Saturday night over Sullivan Community College, 69-68. Lateef Willis was named MVP after sinking a 3-pointer with two seconds left.
Famous was named the Mid-Hudson Conference and Region XV Player of the Year. He received an award marking his 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds. Famous was also selected to the all-tournament team.
WCC faces Globe Institute Tuesday night in the first round of the Region XV playoffs.
