Jay Wright and Villanova assistants Kyle Neptune and Baker Dunleavy, as well as Indiana assistant Chuck Martin, watched 2016 Christ the King guard Rawle Alkins Sunday night at the Slam Dunk to the Beach event in Delaware.
The 6-foot-5 Alkins went for 23 points in a 66-57 loss to Sunrise (KS) Christian Sunday evening, including the above dunk that made YouTube.
Kentucky, Villanova, Cincinnati, Louisville, Kansas and N.C. State are among those involved for Alkins.
“He can create his own shot every possession,” one area AAU coach recently told SNY.tv. “He is so unselfish. He’s f***ing good. He’s a team player, and he helps his teammates.”
BRISCOE SCORES 23 IN RC WIN
Kentucky-bound guard Isaiah Briscoe went for 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals as Roselle Catholic beat Haverford (PA), 71-55.
The game turned when RC attacked the zone by having Briscoe flash to the post. He got the ball in the high post and was able to score inside the zone or drop off passes for easy baskets.
“We were struggling early against their zone, so putting Isaiah into the high post on some plays allowed us to make some plays to get us going,” RC coach Dave Boff said.
“Whatever they want, I do and whatever they want I know I can do,” Briscoe told Steve Keller.
