Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy point guard Terrence Phillips picked up a scholarship offer from Loyola Marymount during his Dec. 28-29 official visit.
Phillips said the visit went well.
“It was good,” Phillips told SNY.tv by text. “They kept it real with me. I saw what they need in there and the direction they are trying to go.”
Phillips recently told SNY.tv he was down to two final schools, Loyola Marymount and Missouri, although at that time, he held no official offer from either school.
Phillips will now put his focus on Missouri.
“Missouri has been in my picture since August when I was at the Chris Paul camp,” he said. “[Mizzou assistant] Rob [Fulford] gave me a call about it and then they have been in my picture more and more recently and then the past week, the past four days, they’ve been in my book a lot more.”
The Tigers will host the 2015 point guard Jan. 2-4, the weekend when Missouri will host the Lipscomb Bisons at Mizzou Arena.
If Missouri offers, Phillips says he could make his decision before his birthday.
“In all honesty, if it comes to a late decision it just happens to be that, but I kind of want to get it done before my birthday, Jan. 12,” he said.
