DaShonte Riley, a 6-foot-11 senior center at Detroit Country Day School, has committed to Syracuse, according to multiple media outlets.

Riley, the No. 121 ranked recruit in the Class of 2009 and No. 18 center by Rivals, picked the Orange over Marquette.
“As soon as I got home from the visit, I was ready to commit,” Riley told the Syracuse Post-Standard. “My mom told me to stay open-minded and explore my options. But at the end of the day, I knew where I wanted to go.”
He initially committed to Georgetown last spring, but then opted to visit the two other Big East schools.
Riley is averaging 8.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game for Detroit Country Day, 19-1 and ranked seventh nationally in this week’s USA Today prep poll.
“I think I’m a good defender,” Riley said. “Someone who can control the inside defensively. Once I come into my own offensively, I think I can be a top-notch post player. But it’s not really about scoring; it’s doing whatever I can to help the team.”
Riley joins 6-4 guard Brandon Triche of Jamesville-DeWitt and 6-7 wing James Southerland of Notre Dame Prep in Jim Boeheim’s recruiting class.
WALL TO VISIT BAYLOR
John Wall, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2009 according to Rivals, 
confirmed that he is visiting Baylor this weekend for Saturday’s game with Nebraska and Senior Day festivities.
“Yeah,” he wrote in a text message.
Wall’s AAU coach, Dwon Clifton, is on staff at Baylor and many have assumed he would ultimately end up there, but he says he remains open.
Wall has already visited Kansas and Memphis and remains in touch with Duke and N.C. State. He told Jerry Meyer of Rivals that he plans to visit Miami but that Oregon is no longer in the mix. Wall targeted the Jordan Brand Classic on April 18 at Madison Square Garden as a potential place for his announcement.
FAMOUS ENJOYED MISSOURI Jarrid Famous, the 6-11 center from Westchester (N.Y.) Community College, enjoyed his visit to Missouri and will now sketch out his other visits. WCC assistant coach Dave Vandiver said Famous returned from his visit Thursday and said the “Mizzou visit was great.” Famous has now visited Seton Hall and Missouri and listed Xavier, Louisville, Villanova, South Florida and UConn as other schools he might visit.
