Duke landed a commitment Wednesday from Antonio Vrankovic, a 6-foot-11 big man from Fort Lauderdale (FL) Pine Crest.
Proud to announce that I’m committing to Duke University! #GoBlueDevils ????????

After losing Jahlil Okafor to the NBA Draft and missing out on Caleb Swanigan (Michigan State), Duke needed a big man. Vrankovic will join incoming guard Luke Kennard and power forward Chase Jeter in their 2015 class.
He averaged 27.5 points, 16.1 rebounds and 5.0 blocks last season, according to MaxPreps.com.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski is also pursing a point guard and is hoping either Derryck Thornton or Jamal Murray will reclass and come to Duke. Thornton will meet with Coach K on Monday, sources told SNY.tv.
KENTUCKY PURSUING JUCO TWO GUARD (UPDATED)
Kentucky is among the schools pursuing Mychal Mulder, a 6-4 shooting guard from Vincennes (IN) University who averaged 15.7 points and made 46.3 percent of his 3-pointers this past season.
Creighton, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri and Wichita State haver offered Mulder, and Kentucky has “strong interest,” assistant coach Brian Davis told SNY.tv. Louisville is no longer involved.
He has visited Creighton and “may visit Indiana, Kentucky and Wichita State.”
“Big time athletic shooter,” Davis said. “With added strength he could be really good.”
Ben Roberts of NextCats.com first reported Kentucky’s interest in Mulder.
SEDEE KEITA PILING UP OFFERS
Sedee Keita, a 6-foot-10 2016 center from Greenville (S.C.) 22 Feet Academy, is piling up high-major offers.
Xavier, Mississippi State, Iowa, Auburn, Temple, Iowa State, South Carolina and Tennessee have offered, according to WE R1 coach Terrell Myers. Kansas and Seton Hall are also interested.
“Sedee’s ceiling is sky high,” Myers said. “Four years ago he was 6-feet and a little heavy and never played basketball but with the work of our coach Prescott and hours in the gym, Sedee is now a 6-10 skilled face-up four man. In the past year, his 22 Feet Academy he has worked on his body and now he looks great and plays with high energy. He rebounds the ball above the rim and is able to push and make passes.”
