In other Big East news, Syracuse point guard Jonny Flynn told the Post-Standard that he will return for his junior year.
“I’m coming back to Syracuse,” Flynn told the newspaper. “That’s it. I’m coming back to Syracuse. There is no ‘as of right now.’ I’m coming back to Syracuse. Yeah. I’m coming back to Syracuse.”
Flynn won Big East Tournament MVP even though the Orange lost the championship game to Louisville. He averaged 19.8 points and 9.3 assists in four games at Madison Square Garden. Flynn is averaging 13.5 points and seven assists through the first two games of this year’s NCAA Tournament.
The No. 3 seed Orange will face No. 2 seed Oklahoma in the Sweet 16 on Friday.
