Kobie Eubanks Not Cleared by NCAA, Will Not Enroll at Alabama

“The Story is out I will not be Attending the Univ[ersity of] Alabama due to not be[ing] cleared by NCAA in time for the Start of School at Alabama,” Eubanks tweeted. “I was not accepted to school and was not able to enroll. I want to thank coach Avery Johnson and Staff and Roll Tide Family for everything!”
Eubanks was the highest ranked player (No. 92 in the class of 2015) in the Crimson Tide’s new recruiting class. He was likely to play significant minutes right away.
“We are disappointed for Kobie and his family,” Tide coach Avery Johnson said in a statement. “Unfortunately, Kobie wasn’t cleared by the NCAA and we couldn’t get him admitted to the University of Alabama. He has a bright future and we wish him well.”
Eubanks spent last year at Elev8 Academy in Delray Beach after he decommitted from Baylor.
In 2014, Eubanks, and his father Clayton Eubanks filed a lawsuit against his old public school in Fort Lauderdale, American Heritage, claiming grade manipulation, costing him a scholarship to play for the Bears.
An elite shooter, Eubanks scored 18.5 points in 2013-2014 for Our Savior New American, leading them to a 23-4 record.
The Eubanks news comes the same week Alabama landed a verbal pledge from 2016 guard Terrance Ferguson, who will play on Saturday in the Under Armour Elite 24 Game in Brooklyn.
