Trevon Duval is planning visits to Kansas and several West Coast schools in August, his father told SNY.tv. on Friday.
The 6-foot-3 Class of 2017 point guard will try to visit Kansas, Oregon, UCLA, Arizona and Cal, as first reported by InsideMd.com.
“Yeah, he’s going to try to make some visits.” Trevor Duval told SNY.tv by phone. “We’re trying to get out there to visit some schools…We were supposed to visit Kansas during the season and we didn’t get a chance to.”
No dates are set yet.
Maryland and Villanova on the East Coast are among the schools working hardest for Duval, he said previously.
Both Maryland and UCLA are Under Armour schools and have been strongly linked to Duval because he is a valued member of the Under Armour family.
As previously reported here, Duval plans to cut his list to 10 around the time of the Under Armour Elite 24 game on Aug. 20.
“I was thinking of cutting it in August,” Trevon Duval said previously. “Cut it to 10 around the Elite 24 (Aug. 20). After that, I want to take all of my officials when I have those five. I want to see all of those schools and give everyone a shot.”
Ranked No. 5 in the class of 2017 by ESPN, Duval is now in the unique position of having to choose both a high school for his senior season – and a college. He plans to leave Dallas (TX) Advanced Prep International and said last week he hopes to choose a new high school by August.
His father said no decision has been made on that front.
“No, not yet,” Trevor said. “We’ll make a decision next month.”
