Zach Kent, the 6-foot-9 stretch-four from Blair (N.J.) Academy, committed to Tennessee over Northwestern on Sunday.
“I just feel that in order for me to be the most successful on the court I need a great coaching staff and environment,” he told VolQuest.com. “Both of those are at Tennessee. I can’t wait to work with those players and the great staff.”
Kent is the third Blair player in the Class of 2017 to commit, following point guard Matt Turner to Santa Clara and big man Deng Gak to Miami. Wing Anthony Mack is considering five schools and is close to announcing.
“Zach is a prototypical stretch big,” Blair coach Joe Mantegna said. “He shoots it with great range and at a high percentage. he can pass and he plays with an edge. There are all transferrable skills to Tennessee.”
