TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright could “miss a considerable amount of time” after suffering a high right ankle sprain against Texas Southern on Wednesday night.

Jackson-Cartwright was injured midway through the first half of the 16th-ranked Wildcats’ 85-63 victory after getting tangled with a Texas Southern player on a screen. The junior guard limped off the court and did not return, leaving Arizona even more short-handed.

Arizona is now down to seven players.

Sophomore guard Allonzo Trier has yet to play due to unspecified reasons and no timetable has been given for his return. Redshirt forward Ray Smith suffered a third torn ACL during an exhibition game and retired from basketball.
