Iowa State Snaps No. 3 Kansas’ 54-Game Home Winning Streak

Monte Morris, Deonte Burton and the Iowa State Cyclones did something on Saturday that no Big 12 team has done in four years.

They beat Kansas at Allen Field house.

Iowa State beat Kansas, 92-89, in overtime to snap a 54-game home winning streak for the Jayhawks (20-3, 8-2 Big 12). It was Kansas’ first home loss since falling to San Diego State on Jan. 15, 2014 and their first conference loss since Marcus Smart and Oklahoma State won at Kansas on Feb. 2, 2013.

It was also Iowa State’s first win at Allen Field House since 2005 and Kansas.

Oregon now holds the longest home winning streak in the nation at 39.

The Cyclones trailed 52-38 at the half.

Burton finished with 29 points, Morris had 25 and Naz Mitrou-Long 22.

With 26.7 seconds left in overtime, Donovan Jackson knocked down a three-pointer off a dish from Morris top put the Cyclones up 90-86.

Devonte Graham answered with a three of his own to cut it to 90-89.

With 7.5 seconds left, Morris went to the foul line and made both to extend the lead to 92-89.

Svi Mykhailiuk (17 points) came up short on a three at the buzzer that would have tied it.

Frank Mason scored game-high 32 points for Kansas with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Josh Jackson added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
