Markus Kennedy, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound junior forward from Living Faith Christian Academy (N.J.), will announce his college choice on Wednesday.
“The press conference is Wednesday at 1:30 at Living Faith Christian Academy,” said Barbara Kennedy, Markus’ mom. “It’s between Villanova, West Virginia and Temple. He went to visit all of them.”
Sources indicated Kennedy will chose between Villanova and West Virginia. Both Villanova coach Jay Wright and West Virginia coach Bob Huggins were in to the school last week to see Kennedy, the No. 37 power forward in the Class of 2010.
“They are great Big East teams, they have great academics, great athletics–the distance between the two is the only thing. I don’t really don’t know yet whether I want to stay close or go away,” Kennedy told WVUSports.com.
Kennedy visited West Virginia last weekend, Temple Thursday and Villanova Friday. He has been to Villanova twice.
Kennedy is a Philly native who plays AAU ball for Team NJABC 2010. He spent his sophomore year at St. Patrick of Elizabeth before transferring to Living Faith.
“His conditioning has improved, as has his work ethic, and he is now regularly nailing the 15-foot jump shot,” his AAU coach Matt Pauls said last summer.
