Zion Williamson, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Spartanburg Day (SC) School, announced via his USA Today Blog he will visit Duke on Oct. 22 and UCLA Oct. 27.
In the article, Williamson spoke very highly of Coach K and Duke.
“I had a talk with Coach K recently, and I asked him how I would fit into his system with the two players he already has committed in my class,” Williamson said in his blog. “He said that every year he changes his system with new players. He said he was gonna play me the way he played LeBron (James) in the Olympics in 2012 so I did my research! Coach K gave him the chance to showcase that he was still the best player in the world.”
As for other visits, Williamson wrote: “I’ll be setting up more visits soon, but I’m very excited about the visits!”
There is no timetable for Williamson’s decision, he stated: “Once I feel like I’ve found the college and it feels right for my family and me I’m just gonna announce it. I don’t really have a timetable for my decision. It’s just whenever it feels right!”
According to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, Kansas has a 43% chance of landing Williamson while Kentucky (29%), Duke (14%), and North Carolina (7%) are also in consideration.
