Miller Kopp, the 6-foot-6 small forward from Houston Christian (TX) High School, announced his commitment to Northwestern on Thursday via Twitter.

“Really, it’s just a family atmosphere,” Kopp told D1Vision on Thursday. “I feel like it’d be a great opportunity to play right away. I love the Big-Ten, and Coach [ChrisCollins and I have a really strong relationship.”

According to 247Sports, Kopp is ranked as the No. 97 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 player from the state of Texas. He joins Pete Nance, Jordan Lathon, and Ryan Young, as the fourth commit in the Wildcats’ 2018 class.

Kopp, who cut his list to six last month, chose Northwestern over Michigan, Texas A&M, Butler, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Georgetown. He took official visits to Butler (Sept. 1) and Texas A&M (Sept. 8), before taking his third and final official visit to Northwestern this past weekend (Sept. 15).

“I thought it was good,” said Kopp on his visit. “Getting to see the campus and see where I would be living, playing basketball, and going to class was really good.”

Playing with the Houston Defenders on the UAA Circuit, Kopp averaged 20.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in 15 games. He also spoke about how he feels he’ll fit in with the Wildcats.

“I think I’ll fit very well,” said Kopp.”They have a free-flowing offense with a lot of movement and a lot of screens. Their guards are a big part of their offense and that’s something that I really like.”

    WAKE FOREST LANDS ISAIAH MUCIUS

Isaiah Mucius, the 6-foot-8 small forward from Brewster (NH) Academy, announced his commitment to Wake Forest on Monday in a video released via Twitter. His commitment comes just a few days after taking an official visit to Wake Forest (Sept. 15).

“First off, I’d like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the game of basketball and blessing me with all these skills,” said Mucius in the video. “Second, I’d like to thank my family and friends for having my back through all the tough times and good times. Thirdly, I’d like to thank all the college coaches that recruited me throughout the process and for believing in me and my talents. Without further ado, I will be attending Wake Forest University.

According to 247Sports, Mucius is ranked as the No. 68 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 1 player from the state of New York. He joins Jaylen Hoard and Sharone Wright Jr. as the third commit in the Demon Deacons’ 2018 class.

Before committing to Wake Forest, Mucius also took an official visit to Xavier (Sept. 8) but ultimately decided to commit to Danny Manning and Wake Forest. Mucius’ commitment gives Wake Forest the No. 5 recruiting class in 2018 per 247Sports.

    SOUTH ALABAMA LANDS BERRICK JEANLOUIS

Berrick JeanLouis, the 6-foot-5 small forward from Lehigh (FL) Senior High School, announced his commitment to South Alabama on Thursday via Twitter. Louis took an official visit to South Alabama this past weekend (Sept. 16).

“I would first like to thank God for the talent he has blessed me with. I would also like to thank my family, friends, teachers, mentors, and coaches for believing and supporting me,” said JeanLouis in a statement released via Twitter. “I want to thank Nike Team Florida, Florida Elite, and Team Knight for giving me a great platform to showcase my abilities.”

According to 247Sports, JeanLouis is ranked as the No. 189 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 18 player from the state of Florida.
