Scottie Lewis, the 6-foot-5 small forward from the Ranney School and Team Rio, issued his first recruiting list on Saturday night and it consists of 12 schools.
Ranked No. 8 in the 2019 ESPN 60, Lewis lists St. John’s, Duke, Seton Hall, Maryland, Villanova, Stanford, Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, Harvard, North Carolina and Colgate. Florida, St. John’s, Villanova, Maryland and Colgate all offered Lewis before he played high school basketball. Kentucky coach John Calipari recently came through Ranney to offer both Lewis and teammate Bryan Antoine, as did North Carolina coach Roy Williams. Colgate, meantime, made a list with bluebloods like Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and North Carolina. “Colgate is like family to me,” Lewis said. “Coach MJ [Mike Jordan] and coach David [Klatsky] are as real as it gets.” Klatsky is the cousin of Team Rio director Brian Klatsky. Lewis and Antoine, the two Class of 2019 stars, are actively talking about playing together in college. “Bryan and I are still talking about the possibility of us going to school together, we just don’t know yet,” Lewis said. “Very serious conversation,” the 6-foot-5 Antoine said in July. “Honestly, it was like 11 o’clock at night, we were at a friend’s house. And it was me, Scottie and a friend, and we were in the room for a good two hours just talking about the options, like the benefits of going to the same school, what would happen if me and him went to the same school.
