Javian Fleming, the 6-foot-9, 230-pound center from Canton (MS), committed to Alabama over Georgetown on Friday.
Fleming took a visit to Georgetown on Sept. 22 and went to Alabama on Sept. 29, a few days before he cut his list to two schools.
“I’ll be going to University of Alabama,” Fleming told Scout.
“I chose Alabama because I got cool with their staff and I like their culture,” he added. “I like how their program has improved each and every year with their wins and their players. I just want to be apart of that type of program.”
According to 247Sports, Fleming is the No. 13 center in the class of 2018 and the No. 4 player from the state of Mississippi.
“I think I can help Alabama with my versatility, with me being able to score the ball with my back to the basket or facing up,” he told Scout. “They really like my passing ability and defense, where I can switch on to guards.”
Fleming joins guard Jared Butler in coach Avery Johnson’s 2018 class.
