Bryce Wills, the 6-foot-6, 192-pound point guard from Iona Prep (N.Y.), has cut his list to four schools and will take an official visit to Stanford later this month.

Wills is down to Stanford, Villanova, UConn and Wake Forest. Arizona is no longer in the mix following the recent college basketball bribery scandal, Iona Prep coach Steve Alvarado said.

He will take an official to Stanford later this month.

“He is going to an official visit to Stanford Nov. 19-21,” Alvarado said.

Wills’ former NY Rens AAU teammate, Cormac Ryan, is currently a freshmen at Stanford after committing last June.

“I know one of my teammates, Cormac Ryan, is going there,” Wills told Rivals last month. “They have a lot of guards in their program and they are on the come-up. They aren’t there yet, but they believe they will get there if they get some more good recruits like myself the next couple years.”

Ranked the No. 5 shooting guard in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports.com, broke down his remaining schools for MadeHoops.com.

Villanova: “Villanova is a good academic school and not too far from home,” said Wills. “Historically, they have done a great job in the Big East, are great with player development and always win.”

Stanford: “They are top notch with their academics and are up and coming in the Pac-12,” said Wills. “I really like the direction they are headed and their style of play fits me. They have a staff that will provide a support system for me when basketball is over. They think that I can make an impact as a freshman.”

UConn: “It’s not too far from home and I have a great relationship with the coaching staff,” said Wills. “There are also plenty of people I know over at UConn.”

Wake Forest: “They have good academics at Wake Forest and are on the rise within the ACC conference,” said Wills.

As for his skill set, Alvarado told ZAGSBLOG: “One of the things he’s been working on over the past 4-5 months is his shooting, he’s gotten dramatically better. Of course now his confidence level has increased dramatically. He’s been in the weight room consistently, he’s been in the weight room since August.

“He’s an extremely multi-dimensional player. He rebounds, blocks shots, gets steals, can attack in transition, guards four positions. So what will separate it for him is he when plays with a high motor and and plays hard for an entire game, he’ll be that much closer to fully realizing his natural abilities.”
