Xavier joined Villanova, Virginia and Purdue among the projected No. 1 seeds in Joe Lunardi’s latest Mock NCAA Tournament Bracket released Monday.

That would give the Big East two No. 1 seeds. Villanova was ranked No. 1 in Monday’s AP Poll, with Xavier at No. 5.

Per Lunardi, Michigan State, Auburn, Kansas and Duke are the 2 seeds.

The 3 seeds feature Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Clemson and Arizona.

The 4s are North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

The ACC has nine projected teams in the Big Dance, the SEC has eight and the Big 12 seven. The Big East is down to six from seven. The Big Ten and Pac-12 have four apiece.

From the tri-state area, Seton Hall, Wagner and Rider are in.

The last four in are Kansas State, N.C. State, Boise State and Virginia Tech. The first four out are Syracuse, Marquette, UCLA and Nebraska.
