LaVar Ball has made his return to the United States and is back to making comments about the Lakers’ organization.
“Man, who don’t want they sons to play all on the same team?” Ball told TMZ at LAX Friday morning. “Name one father who don’t want they sons to play on the same team?”
When asked if Lonzo would leave if he didn’t get his way Lavar responded, “I’ll let Y’all figure that out.”
Earlier this week, LaVar threatened the Lakers with Lonzo’s future if they don’t sign the other two Ball boys, LiAngelo and LaMelo, who are currently playing overseas in Lithuania.
“I want all my three boys to play for the Lakers . . . I want [to] let every NBA team know, that Lonzo is not going to re-sign with the Lakers but will go to any team that will take all three of my boys,” Ball told Lithuanian writer Donatas Urbonas.
“LaVar is on the verge of getting Lonzo traded,” Chris Broussard said on Fox Sports. “He is getting very close to ruining the career of Lonzo. Lonzo needs to step up and quiet his dad down.
LaVar doesn’t seem to care, and promises the Lakers can win more titles with his boys as the focus.“So now you win championship after championship on fact that my boys will never leave,” he said. “That’s what I mean championship, championship, championship.”
The Lakers are coming off a 119-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Feb. 15 and are 11th in the Western Conference standings with a 23-34 record.
