SAN ANTONIO — Jordan Brown, the 6-foot-11 power forward from Napa Valley (CA) Prolific Prep, was added to the Nike Hoop Summit roster on Monday, and likely won’t make his college choice until later in April or early May.
“Sometime in April or May,” Dion Brown, Jordan’s father, said Monday.
Brown told FloHoops.com last weekend at the McDonald’s Game that Arizona and Stanford were among those to re-enter his recruitment along with St. John’s, Gonzaga, Cal and others.
On Monday, his father added that North Carolina and Louisville, under new coach Chris Mack, have also reached out.
In 2017-18 Brown helped Prolific Prep to a 27-8 record and the semifinals of the Grind Session High School World Championship.
“This a real blessing to have another opportunity to wear ‘USA’ across my chest,” Brown said of the Hoop Summit Game, set for April 13 in Portland, Ore. “I’m ready to go out there and compete for another win. I’ve been with USA Basketball before, and I kind of know how things go, just having that background knowledge of the culture and level of competition, so I’m going to bring that into the game.”
The 2018 USA Junior National Select Team also features: Darius Bazley (Princeton H.S./Cincinnati, Ohio); Bol Bol (Findlay College Prep, Nev./Olathe, Kan.); Darius Garland (Brentwood Academy/Brentwood, Tenn.); Quentin Grimes (College Park H.S./The Woodlands, Texas); Tyler Herro (Whitnall H.S./Greenfield, Wis.); Keldon Johnson (Oak Hill Academy/Sterling, Va.); Tre Jones (Apple Valley H.S./Apple Valley, Minn.); Romeo Langford (New Albany H.S./New Albany, Ind.); David McCormack (Oak Hill Academy/Norfolk, Va.); Cameron Reddish (Westtown School/Norristown, Pa.); and Zion Williamson (Spartanburg Day School/Spartanburg, S.C.).
Additionally, Louis King (Hudson Catholic H.S./Columbus, N.J.) will attend the 2018 Nike Hoop Summit as a member of the U.S. team but is unable to participate due to injury.
