Tevian Jones, the 6-foot-6 small forward from Culver City (CA), has committed to Illinois, he announced on Tuesday.
Jones chose the Illini over Mississippi State and California, but the only official visit he took was to Illinois.
“I went on my visit and what they laid out to me I felt like the University of Illinois would be a place that I would get better at,” Jones told 247Sports. “A place that will push me to get better and prepare me for the next level which is the NBA.”
Jones if the fifth member of Brad Underwood’s 2018 class along with Ayo Dosunmu, Samba Kane, Alan Griffin and Giorgi Bezhanishvili
“I think I bring a lot to the table,” Jones said. “I am a very versatile player. I think I can help them on the offensive end and on the defensive end, guarding multiple positions. With my offensive ability, being able to shoot, getting to the basket and stuff like that and then with my length, guarding and stuff.”
According to 247Sports, Jones is the No. 117 player in the 2018 class and the No. 10 prospect at his position.
