Robert Braswell, the 6-foot-8, 178-pound power forward from Blythewood (S.C.), committed to Syracuse over UMass and Oklahoma State on Sunday.
Braswell will help provide some front court depth after the loss of Darius Bazley, who opted for the NBA G League over Syracuse.
“I knew that I wanted to go there after the visit [May 8],” he said. “I like the feeling of it being a home away from home. That’s what I feel like I need because I will be pretty far.”
Braswell is ranked the No. 170 overall prospect and No. 29 power forward in the 2018 Top247.
“He handles the ball well, passes well and rebounds well,” said Blythewood coach Zeke Washington. “He shoots the ball extremely well. The sky’s the limit for Robert. Once he gets a little stronger, there is no telling how great he could be.”
Braswell joins shooting guard Buddy Boeheim and combo guard Jalen Carey in Syracuse’s 2018 class.
