2019 wing Ismael Massoud cuts to five, sets visits

Ismael Massoud, the 6-foot-8 wing from the PSA Cardinals and the MacDuffie School (MA), has cut his list to five schools and set his visits.

Massoud is down to Harvard, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Rutgers. He told 247Sports.com he will visit Harvard (Sept. 8), Auburn (Sept. 15), Wake Forest (Sept. 22), Georgia Tech (Sept. 29) and Rutgers (Oct. 6).

He broke down the five schools for 247Sports:

Harvard: “They speak for themselves. The academics are a big factor. That’s an opportunity I want to look at and measure into it a little more.”

Auburn: “They have a great coach, a great culture. They’ve been really good in the SEC as of late. I feel like coach [Bruce] Pearl knows how to develop players and get them to the next level.

Wake Forest: “They have great player development. They have a good 2018 class. They are on the rise in the ACC. I felt like it would be a good fit to learn from Danny Manning and coach [Randolph] Childress and all of that.

Georgia Tech: “Coach [Josh] Pastner, like Wake Forest, they are trying to come on the rise in the ACC. They are building something over there and it would be cool to get to know them more and be apart of that.

Rutgers: “They’ve recruited me the hardest of all of the schools and the longest. Coach [Steve] Pikiellis really on to something at Rutgers. It’ll be really cool to potentially stay and play in front of family and friends.”

“He’s one of the best wings in the country and has limitless upside,” PSA Cardinals director Terrance “Munch” Williams said. “His ability to play multiple positions makes him a clear example of where the game of basketball is heading. He has the chance to be the best wing to ever put on a PSA Cardinals uniform.”

Wherever he goes, he wants to show his upside.

“I’d like to show coaches my versatility and ability to play and defend multiple positions while still being efficient and impactful in every facet of the game especially rebounding at a high level,” he said.
