Emanuel Miller, the athletic 6-foot-7 wing from Prolific Prep (CA) and the UPlay Canada AAU program, committed to Virginia Tech on Thursday.

Ohio State, Oklahoma and others had been interested him in the past.

He joins point guards Anthony Harris and Andre Gordon and small forward Yavuz Gültekin  in coach Buzz Williams’ 2019 class.

“We are very excited for Emanuel and his decision to commit,” said Prolific Prep coach Ryan Sypkens. “In his time here at Golden State Prep, his work ethic has been on full display as he has made some significant improvements to his jump shot in a short amount of time. His elite ability to defend and pass are special. Coach Buzz Williams and Virginia Tech are getting a player who will be able to contribute at a high level right away.”

Said GTA Prep/UPlay Canada coach David Cooper, who has worked with Miller: “Virginia Tech got a great one. Emanuel Miller will be a multifaceted player who can defend multiple positions. He will bring a high motor coupled with toughness, intensity, athleticism and skill as he continues to develop.”

Added UPlay Canada coach Dwayne Washington : “Eman brings versatility and a distinct skill set. He can defend the 1-4. He is an athletic elite and is a great teammate. He will have opportunities to play in the league in a few years if given the chance to play the three positions as he is a walking mismatch. His game is suited for the next level. Playing under Buzz will allow him to gain the pieces needed to be successful after college.”
