Vanderbilt announced that freshman point guard Darius Garland suffered a meniscus injury in his left knee in the Commodores’ Friday afternoon contest with Kent State and is out indefinitely.
Garland suffered the injury two minutes into the Commodores’ game with the Golden Flashes and did not return to the game.
The freshman from Nashville, Tenn., scored an SEC-best 33 points against Liberty earlier this week and is averaging 16.2 points per game.
Garland chose Vanderbilt a year ago over Kentucky, Indiana and UCLA.
