CHAMBLEE, Ga. – With a loaded six-man recruiting class in 2019, the Louisville Cardinals are expected to make big strides in head coach Chris Mack’s second year on the job.

Headlining their 2019 class is McDonald’s All-American and 6-foot-6 small forward Samuell Williamson, who broke down his thoughts on the Cardinals’ 2019 class.

“I think we have the best class in the country,” said Williamson. “I can’t wait to get up there, get to work with those guys, and get Louisville basketball back in the championship contention.”

The rest of Louisville’s 2019 class is rounded out by four-stars Aidan Igiehon, David Johnson, Jaelyn Withers, Josh Nickelberry, and three-star forward Quinn Slazinski.

“I think I’ll fit in great,” said Williamson. “That was one of the main reasons why I chose Louisville. Coach Mack’s system that he had at Xavier was appealing and he’s running a similar system at Louisville.”

In Williamson’s senior season at Rockwall (TX) High School, he averaged 25 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists a game and was named the MVP of Class 6-A-District 11.

Louisville finished 20-14 after losing to Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Cardinals currently have the No. 7-ranked recruiting class in the country and the top class among ACC schools, per 247Sports.
