Isaiah Cottrell, the 6-foot-9 power forward from Bishop Gorman (NV) High School, announced his commitment to West Virginia on Thursday, Rivals reported Thursday.
“They have showed that they really want me and not just that they need me. Their efforts coming out to Las Vegas and across the country at times to see practice and come and check on me stand out,” he told Rivals.
Cottrell took an official visit to West Virginia last year (Sept. 21). According to 247Sports, Cottrell is ranked as the No. 61 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 3 player from the state of Nevada. He is the first commit in the Mountaineers’ 2020 class. Cottrell chose West Virginia over Kansas, Rutgers and Missouri. In addition to WVU, he also took an official visit to Rutgers (Sept. 28).
