Richie Greaves, the 6-foot point guard from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic and Team Rio, has committed to SUNY Binghamton, he told ZAGSBLOG.
Greaves has been one of the more underrated point guards in New Jersey over the past couple years, having started for perennial state title contender Roselle Catholic and for two of the top AAU programs in the country the last couple of years, the NY Rens of the EYBL and Team Rio of the Under Armor circuit.
Central Connecticut State, Sacred Heart, Cal-Poly, UNC-Wilmington, UMBC, Loyola-Maryland and Bryant also offered.
“I am thrilled for Richie that he has decided to go to Binghamton and play for Coach [Tommy] Dempsey,” RC coach Dave Boff said. “I think Richie is a really a great get for Coach Dempsey, a kid who can step in right away and help that program from Day 1. He’s played at the elite HS and AAU level for a number of years and will be ready to make plays at that level.”
Greaves is the third Roselle Catholic senior to commit Division 1 this year following CJ Wilcher (Xavier) and Niels Lane (Florida).
