UConn basketball forward Tyler Polley will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season with a torn ACL and medial meniscus, per UConn Athletics.
Polley, a 6-foot-9 junior forward, has started every game this season for the Huskies. The injury occurred on Friday during practice.
“UConn men’s basketball junior forward Tyler Polley suffered tears to
the anterior cruciate ligament and medial meniscus in his left knee during practice on Friday and will be lost to the Huskies for the remainder of the season,” Per release. Surgery to repair Polley’s knee is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17. Recovery could take between seven and nine months. UConn has 16 games remaining on its schedule, not including post-season play. Having played in 15 games, Polley will not be eligible for a medical redshirt. Polley was averaging 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and was shooting a team-best 40.5 percent from three-point range.
