UCLA and Kentucky have been ‘the most consistent in communicating’ with 2020 five-star center Makur Maker, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Sunday. The news was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Maker is also considering Memphis, Auburn, and Oregon.
He and his camp are awaiting updated NBA Draft / NCAA deadline dates and will go from there. He’s prepared to spend a year in college.
Maker, a 6-foot-11 center from Hillcrest Prep (AZ), is ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 3 center and No. 16 overall player in the Class of 2020.
Maker, who was declared eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft earlier this year, qualified straight out of high school because he is 19 years old.
Ed Smith, Maker’s guardian told Forbes.com in February that he is ‘certain’ Maker will remain in the draft.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, his thinking has changed.
