Maker was declared eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft earlier this year because he is 19 years old and one year removed from his original high school graduating class (2019). While the new NCAA withdrawal date for the NBA Draft is now set for Aug. 3, Smith said they were awaiting an official withdrawal date from the NBA since Maker is not yet playing in the NCAA. Makur Maker has graduated from Pacific Academy (CA) and is now weighing his next move, his guardian Ed Smith told ZAGSBLOG.
Kentucky, UCLA and Howard have been “consistently” in touch,” Smith said, while Memphis has also reached out. Auburn and Oregon have also been linked to Maker, the cousin of Detroit Pistons forward Thon Maker.
Makur, a 6-foot-11 center, is ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 4 center and No. 18 overall player in the Class of 2020.
