By the time Williams is ready for college in 2023, the one-and-done rule could be long gone and he could head straight from the preps to the pros. Still, Williams has been vocal about his support for HBCUs and was especially supportive when Makur Maker chose Howard over Kentucky, Memphis and UCLA.I appreciate every college that has recruited me up until this point but here’s my top 10. Asked on ESPN what it will take to trigger more players choosing HBCUs, Maker said, “Just people considering it seriously. I think some top recruits have already looked into HBCUs after we took our visit in October during Howard Homecoming. Mikey Williams is very engaged into this movement, some other top recruits also. “Just players taking visits, either making it your first visit or a last visit between all the other schools it will kind of shock you and you’re like, ‘OK, I want to be on this campus.’ That’s kind of what happened to me, so just taking a visit and being engaged into what’s happening.” Follow Adam Zagoria on Twitter Follow ZAGSBLOGHoops on Instagram And Like ZAGS on FacebookWe will make a change!!!
