After a strong showing at the On the Radar Hoops Separation Camp earlier this week, Noah Robledo is becoming a name to know in the Class of 2021.
Robledo, the 6-foot-6, 185-pound small forward from Leander (TX), currently holds offers from Idaho State and San Diego.
Idaho State: “The head coach and staff hit me up almost every day. If it’s not one of them, it’s all of them.
“Just me being a big guard and being able to do what I’m able to do. I can handle the ball, shoot the ball really well and be basically a scorer for them. That’s what gravitated them towards me. They think I could provide that extra push for their program.”
San Diego: “It’s kind of been the same thing. Here and there I’ll get texts from coach Martin [Bahar]. They ask me about how I’m doing. They watch my game film and ask about my family.”
Robledo is also receiving interest from Texas, TCU, Baylor, Virginia Tech and Texas State.
“As soon as September comes around, hopefully I can get out there and go on a couple visits,” he said.
In addition to his two offers, Robledo says he wants to take visits to Texas, TCU and Virginia Tech.
He broke down each school:
Texas: “Ever since I was little, growing up in the Austin area, burnt orange is all you really know. I know that me staying at home would be a big deal for me and my family. Just being in that whole culture, I kind of got a feel for it.
“With that being said, I know that their style of play is what I’m willing to do and I’m built for.
They have a lot of big guards. They like to run, get up and down.” TCU: “They’re another good program that’s get up and go. They check in on me frequently, asking how my body is being built. I know for them, it’s more about the player development and getting me right which is something that I take very seriously in my recruitment. ” Virginia Tech: “They are in need of a big guard and have a really chill coaching staff who is always intrigued with my abilities.” According to the 247Sports.com Composite Rankings, Robledo is listed as the No. 33 small forward and No. 150 overall player in the Class of 2021. “I’m a very versatile big guard,” he said. “With my size, my length and my strength, there’s not many players in my class that are built like me.” Robledo describes himself as a ‘gritty player’ that can ‘shoot the lights out’. “My strong suit is being able to shoot the ball,” he said. “’m able to handle the ball like a guard and blow past bigs. If I have smaller players on me, I’m able to take them to the paint, body them down low, do a couple post moves and finish at the cup.” Robledo says lately he’s been working on his ball handling and shooting. “Shooting off the dribble,” he said. “I’m still working on those mid-range fade aways and mid-range pull ups.” Off the court, Robledo describes himself as a ‘real big sneaker head’.
