Charlie Moore to Memphis

Charlie Moore, a 5-foot-10 point guard out of Chicago Morgan Park, has committed to Memphis.

“After further consideration, I have decided that I will attend the University of Memphis,” Moore said in a press conference Thursday.

Moore is ranked the No. 15 point guard in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com.

“I chose Memphis, because it was a great situation for me,” Moore said. “I could come in and contribute right away. Coach Josh (Pastner) and coach Damon (Stoudamire) have been wonderful in this process. I also feel like Coach Josh will get the best out of me. Now with my collegiate decision I get to follow a cast of guards that have come through Memphis like Penny Hardaway and Derrick Rose.”

Also announcing on Thursday will be point guard De’Aaron Fox and power forwards De’Ron Davis and T.J. Leaf.

Moore is the first commit for the Tigers in the class of 2016.
