Indiana and St. John’s became the latest high-major schools to offer 6-8, 184-pound junior forward Angel Nunez of Harlem.

Nunez now holds offers from those two schools, as well as UConn, Louisville, Arizona, Rutgers and Arkansas.

Nunez and his mentor, Eric Martinez, visited St. John’s Tuesday and said they had a great time.

“I didn’t think St. John’s would look like that,” said Nunez, who is home for a few weeks before returning to the Winchendon (Mass.) School.

“I had never been there before. It was kind of nice. I like St. John’s.”

Indiana also offered Nunez through assistant Roshown McLeod, the former St. Anthony standout.

“They said that they obviously have Kyrie [Irving] and [Michael] Gilchrist on the top of their list, but Angel is the next tier kid that they’re trying to recruit,” Martinez said.

One assistant coach spoke very highly of Nunez’s potential.

“He’s a pro,” the coach said. “He just needs to go to the right school that’s gonna develop his talent and bring out that fire that he has.”

Nunez will attend either the Syracuse or Indiana elite camp at the end of the month, but Martinez said it would probably be Syracuse because of the proximity.

“We’ll probably go to Syracuse because it’s closer,” Martinez said.

    DUKE, INDY LEADING FOR KYRIE

As for the 6-1 Irving, the St. Patrick guard who was named MVP at the recent Nike Global Challenge, a source said it could come down to Indiana and Duke.

Irving has said he will visit both schools officially and Indiana hopes to get him to commit on the spot.

Harrison Barnes, one of the top players in the Class of 2010, is working to get Irving to join him at Duke, the source said.

Barnes has a list of about 10 schools and told Jeff Goodman of FoxSports that he’ll cut it after the Boost Mobile game.

Duke is also recruiting Brandon Knight as well as Irving, but IU has made Irving its priority from the beginning, the source said.

Indiana coaches tell Irving that he can be the man at that school and the “face of what Indiana basketball is bringing back.”

    MILLER HAS LONG LIST

Quincy Miller, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound 2011 forward out of Winston-Salem (N.C.) Quality Education Academy, told Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier Journal that he has a lot of offers as well.

“Duke, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, Baylor, Oklahoma State, USC, Memphis, Kansas, Oregon, Oregon State, Florida, Florida State, Louisville and Kentucky,” Miller said .

He said he’s in no hurry to cut his list.

“I won’t narrow it until probably my senior year; or whenever I feel like it,” Miller said. “I am in no rush right now. But I am liking it all right now.”

    BOOST MOBILE ANNOUNCES COACHES

Rajon Rondo of the Celtics, Kevin Love of the T-Wolves, Brandon JEnnings of the Bucks and Tyreke Evans of the Kings will coach in the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event next Friday at Harlem’s Rucker Park.

WIlson Chandler of the Knicks will judge the dunk contest.
