Zion Cruz, the 6-foot-4 five-star shooting guard from The Patrick School (N.J.) and the PSA Cardinals, announced Wednesday he is re-opening his recruitment.
Cruz was set to publicly announce his college commitment Sunday between Auburn, Creighton and North Carolina, and then postponed his announcement. He told ZAGSBLOG on several occasions North Carolina is his “dream school.”
He is ranked the No. 3 shooting guard in the nation, per 247Sports.com.
College coaches can begin watching Cruz again this week at open gyms at The Patrick School.
“Zion is the ultimate competitor,” PSA Cardinals coach Jon DeJesus saiid. “He loves to compete and go to battle with his teammates. He can score at all 3 levels and really uses his athleticism to shoot over and finish around defenders. He has great elevation on his pull-up jumper off the dribble. His IQ of the game along with his shotmaking abilities will translate to the next level. Zion also has the physical tools along with defensive instincts to really become a high-level defender at the next level. The school he chooses is not only getting a competitor and shot maker, they are getting a great young man.”
