John Calipari provides roster update for next season, including Shaedon Sharpe status

Kentucky head coach John Calipari provided an update on next season’s roster during his final call-in show Monday, including a status on five-star freshman Shaedon Sharpe.
After joining the team at the mid-year point of the season, Sharpe did not see the floor during the Wildcats 2022-23 season. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard can reportedly apply for the 2022 NBA Draft.
“We sat down with him and he has explore to decide if he is ready for this right now,” Calipari said. “…I hope I get a chance to coach him in real games.”
Despite not playing during the 2021-22 season, Sharpe is widely projected to be a lottery pick in this year’s draft after averaging 22.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the 2021 Nike EYBL.
Calipari also said there are a number of players reaching out wanting to transfer, per Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio.
