Adou Thiero, the 6-foot-5 combo guard from Quaker Valley (PA) High School, committed to Kentucky on Sunday.

He recently visited Kentucky and also visited Xavier. Kentucky coach John Calipari said Monday during a radio interview the school had a silent commitment who would announce soon. Calipari coached Almamy Thiero Adou father, at Memphis.

“I chose (Kentucky) because Coach Cal gets people to the league and I’ve known him for a while so I know he wants what’s best for me,” Thiero told On3. “They also have a sports science center to help prevent injuries and I just think going there and trusting the process, I will be the best player I can be.”

Thiero averaged 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 3.9 steals and 2.3 blocks per game for Quaker Valley High School this season. The team finished 27-1 and won the WPIAL Class 4A title. Thiero was named TribLive HSSN Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Kentucky has two signed players in the Class of 2022 in shooting guard Cason Wallace, who played in last Saturday’s Iverson Classic in Memphis, and small forward Chris Livingston.

The Wildcats will return National Player of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe, point guard Sahvir Wheeler, shooting guard CJ Fredrick and forwards Jacob Toppin, Lance Ware and Daimion Collins.
