Cormac Ryan, the 6-foot-5 senior transfer from Notre Dame, has committed to North Carolina.
Ryan averaged 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists during Mike Brey’s last season with the Irish.
“I’m really excited about my decision,” Ryan told Jon Rothstein. “I’m excited to be on a great team with great people. I’m also very excited about my role. Coach (Hubert) Davis told me that they needed my shooting, but he also wants me to bring my whole game.”
He played one season at Stanford and then three at Notre Dame. This will be his total sixth year of college basketball, including a sit-out transfer year when he arrived at Notre Dame.
Ryan joins transfers Jaelyn Withers (Louisville) and Paxson Wojcik (Brown) and incoming freshman guard Simeon Wilcher and small forward Zayden High.
